All technical requirements for TVOD launches correspond to the Prime Video global specifications, outlined in the Global packaging requirements. Prime Video accepts MovieLabs specification assets and core title metadata (like MMC and MEC) and EMA 1.7.2 or 1.7.3 avails for our Global catalog. Please see Sample files to view examples of accepted files, and please review the content of this page carefully before making deliveries.
Localized asset requirements
This section presents the minimum localization requirements to publish TVOD titles. However, we encourage partners to deliver all the localized assets (images, audio, timed text) that are available to them so that we can offer the best experience to customers.
To publish a TVOD offer, Prime Video requires a full delivery package with localized metadata and assets in the primary language for that territory. For each title, the following deliveries are required:
- Avails (see Content rights for details)
- Metadata (title, synopsis) in the primary language for the territory
- Video matching highest resolution in the avail (for example, a 4K UHD mezzanine if sending 4K UHD and HD avails)
- 16:9 cover art, 3:4 box art, and 16:9 hero (background) art
- Assets in the primary language for the territory, which may be fulfilled by one of the following:
- The video, if the Original Voice (OV) matches the primary language (for example, Amélie in France) OR
- The video with embedded localized audio track (only applicable to territories where OV is not mandatory for publishing) OR
- An additional localized caption/subtitle file OR
- An additional localized discrete multi-track audio
- For Brazil and Sweden, box art and cover art in the corresponding Language-Locale is no longer required. For India, box art and cover art in English are still required.
- For Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal and Sweden, the Original Voice (OV) of the title is required, either as embedded in the video or as a separate component
The primary languages for each territory are listed in the following table.

Prime Video reserves the right to withhold publishing titles if they don’t satisfy our localization criteria. Catalog Manager in Prime Video Slate will display all required title parts that a partner or post house must fulfill for a title to go live on Prime Video. As you deliver content rights (avails) to Prime Video, requests populate with all delivery requirements, including the localizations necessary for a designated territory. As you and your post house deliver assets, requests provide live updates of title fulfillment, and display any file-level errors preventing fulfillment. Please consult this resource regularly to avoid content delays due to missing localization. To learn more about this feature, go to the support page for Catalog Manager.
Note: Prime Video requires that partner content assets meet our standards and specifications. If a partner studio fails to provide an asset, or provides an asset that does not comply with a quality measurement or other delivery requirement, Prime Video may source any corrected or missing assets. However, partners can submit their own corrected assets at any time. When they do, Prime Video will remove and replace the sourced assets, and customers will see only the studio- or partner-provided files, as long as they comply with Prime Video standards and specifications.
POEST
Prime Video supports the publishing of pre-order EST (POEST) offers in all TVOD territories.
To publish POEST offers, we require the delivery of avails, metadata, and artwork (including Language-Locale requirements where applicable) at least 7 days in advance of the POEST offer start date, as per our delivery SLAs.
POEST and EST Avails must be submitted together. If they’re not submitted together, the Avails will fail ingestion.
Playable assets are not required to publish the POEST offer, but must be provided in advance of the EST start date as per our delivery SLAs.
Complete Season offers for television TVOD
Prime Video currently supports the publishing of television TVOD complete Season offers in US, DE, UK and JP territories (classic marketplaces), and AU, CA, FR, IT, and ES (global marketplaces).
To publish television TVOD complete Season offers, we require the delivery of all assets (including Language-Locale requirements where applicable) in line with our standard delivery SLAs.
We also validate all assets to ensure that the season offer information is complete and correct. Our validation process is designed to prevent customer-facing issues (such as incomplete seasons, pricing errors, and so on). Season offers cannot be published until they meet all the following necessary validation requirements. Also, any changes to an existing published Season offer or its related Episodes (for example: updates to an Episode price or its availability dates) will trigger a re-validation. If a validation fails, the Season offer will be unpublished (taken down). Partners must correct the errors that failed validation before the Season offer can be auto-published again.
Complete Season offers are validated against the following criteria.
Validation failure error code | Rule and explanation |
INVALID_BUNDLE_DATES | All Episode start dates should be earlier than or equal to the Season start date or All Episode end dates should be later than or equal to the Season end date |
EMPTY_BUNDLE | At least one Episode is available within the Season Bundle |
INCOMPLETE_BUNDLE | The EpisodeCount value in the Season avail should match the number of available Episodes within the Season Bundle |
INVALID_BUNDLE_PRICE | The Season price is smaller than or equal to the sum of Episode prices |
Note: These details apply to complete Season offers only, where all Episodes of a full Season are made available upfront, and customers can access the entire Season from the start. This does not apply to “Season pass” offers that enable customers to purchase the full Season before all episodes are released. Season pass offers are currently available in classic marketplaces only.
If a TVOD Season offer has been gated due to validation, you can access the failure report on the Catalog Manager: Avails tab in Slate.
- Click the red info icon next to the offer’s Not Ready status, in the Publish Ready Status column.
- Click the Download report link.
From here, you can export the report to a .CSV file.
