Catalog Manager: Assets tab

Last updated 2025-02-19

The Assets tab provides the most granular view of Catalog Manager. Each row represents an asset that Prime Video is either requesting or has received for your business alias and delivery account permissions. Use the Assets tab to view the current status of assets across your catalog, in relation to Prime Video’s delivery specifications, to make sure all assets are delivered on time.

Key features

Common Catalog Manager features work in the Assets tab the same way that they do in the other tabs.

In addition, you can filter any row in the Assets tab to view information that corresponds to that asset on the Titles, Avails, or Deliveries tab.

Key columns and values

This section describes some of the most important columns on the Assets tab, and how you need to respond to different statuses or results. (For a complete list of all columns on the Assets tab, see Assets tab columns later in this page.)

Action Needed column:
This column indicates whether you need to take action on the asset shown in the row. The status message Action Needed, outlined in red, appears for assets that need to change. Action Recommended, outlined in yellow, appears for assets that Prime Video suggests you use to improve the customer experience. No Action Needed means that you are not required to take action on a given asset.

By default, the Assets tab is sorted by assets with Action Needed status that are closest to their due date, followed by Action Recommended assets, then No Action Needed assets.

Required column:
This column indicates whether an asset is required for publishing. There are five possible statuses.

The Required column of the Assets tab in Slate, showing all available statuses

  • Required means that an asset is required for publishing.
  • Required With Options means that there are multiple asset options you can deliver to fulfill Prime Video requirements. (See additional details below.)
  • Recommended means that an asset is recommended to fix or deliver to improve the customer experience.
  • Recommended With Options means that there are multiple asset options you can deliver to fulfill the recommended asset request.
  • Optional means that Prime Video doesn’t need this specific asset to publish your title. If an asset with Optional status also has a Fulfilled delivery status, it means Prime Video has received the asset and processed it successfully.

If an asset shows the Required With Options or Recommended With Options status, your available options are tied to the asset’s territory or territories. Click the info icon (the letter “i”) next to the status to see what assets you can or must deliver for that row.

  • Single Territory—Multiple Asset Options: If the asset in the selected row is tied to a singular territory and has a Required With Options status, the info icon shows you the options of assets that Prime Video will accept to fulfill our requirements. We ask that you select at least one of these assets to deliver to Prime Video.

In the following example screenshot, the Canada territory can be fulfilled by delivering either Audio in English, Timed Text Subtitles in English, or Timed Text Captions in English.

Single territory, multiple asset options for a row on the Assets tab. This example shows fulfillment examples for Canada.

When at least one of those assets is delivered successfully, the associated Required With Options rows will be flipped from Action Needed to No Action Needed in the Action Needed column. You will then have confirmation that the asset(s) you chose to deliver have fulfilled Prime Video’s request successfully.

Tip: Click the Filter Assets tab to these assets link to bring up the options of assets associated in the row’s popover.

  • Multiple Territory Options—Multiple Asset Options: If the asset in the selected row is tied to multiple territories and has a Required With Options status, the info icon shows you the options of assets that Prime Video will accept to fulfill our requirements. We require you to deliver any combination of assets that would cover ALL territories listed in that asset’s row. In some cases, one asset will fulfill ALL territories for a given row; you’ll always see that option listed first. You will also see additional options of assets to deliver that could fulfill a specific territory associated with that row.

In the following example screenshot, if you deliver Audio, Timed Text Subtitles, or Captions in French, you will fulfill ALL territories for the asset requested. This includes Belgium (BE), France (FR), and Canada (CA) territories. The Belgium (BE) territory can also be fulfilled by Audio, Timed Text Subtitles, or Captions in Dutch.

Multiple territory, multiple asset options for a row on the Assets tab. This example shows fulfillment options for Belgium, France, and Canada.

Delivery Status column: This column indicates where the selected asset is in the fulfillment process. There are four possible statuses.

  • Pending Delivery: Indicates that the asset in this row is missing.
  • Fulfilled: Indicates that Prime Video has received the associated asset and it has successfully passed our delivery specifications.
  • Processing: Indicates that Prime Video has received the asset, and it is being processed by one of our internal systems. Non-video assets should see an updated status within an hour. Video and audio assets (mezzanine files) may take up to 24 hours to reflect an updated status.
  • Failed: Indicates that Prime Video has detected one or more errors with the asset in the given row. Detailed error messages appear in the Errors column. If Prime Video detects a previous successful delivery of that asset, the info icon (the letter “i”) appears. Click the icon to see those details.

If an asset has a Failed delivery status, the number of errors associated with that asset appears in the Errors column.

When an asset is successfully redelivered, that row will show the Processing delivery status until all checks across Prime Video’s supply chain systems are complete.

Delivery Account vs Business Alias
In Slate, a Business Alias is the entity, subsidiary, or brand associated with each title. This is also sometimes referred to as vendor alias. A Delivery Account represents the authorized account that has delivered the corresponding asset for that row in the Assets tab. (For more details about setting up delivery accounts, see Catalog Manager: Deliveries tab, or click the Manage delivery accounts button on the Deliveries tab.)

A Business Alias could have multiple Delivery Accounts that can deliver for that given Business Alias. A common example is when a studio (identified in the Business Alias column) has one or more fulfillment vendors that deliver to their account. A studio can identify whether they, or one of their fulfillment vendors, delivered a specific asset by checking the Delivery Account column.

A fulfillment vendor will only be able to see what their specific delivery account(s) have delivered, and can see which partners they have delivered for in the Business Alias column.
