Export query results

Last updated 2024-09-30

In this section, you’ll find an explanation of the export functionality, currently available as part of the Avails and Assets tabs. The export function lets you download all the results of your currently applied filter. You can then manipulate and share the downloaded spreadsheet to help your own workflows.

To start an export, click the Export button to the right of the Actions button.

Export options

The export button has three options:

  • Export all rows under current filter: This option generates a file that contains all the rows that meet your current filtering (not just the rows currently visible in the page). When you select this option, Slate immediately starts to generate an export file based on the currently applied filters in your view. Exports typically take 5 minutes or less, but can take 15 or more if you’re exporting a large number of rows (over 20,000), or in events where the system is receiving a large number of requests.

Note: Exports cannot have more than 300,000 rows.

When you select a current filter export, a banner on the page indicates that the request was successful.

You can see the in-progress export by selecting the View export history option from the Export button menu.

Once the export is complete, you can download the file by clicking the download button next to the status in the Export history view.

Note: If you open the export history while an export is in progress, the status will not change automatically. You must refresh the page or close and re-open the export history to see the updated status. Once the status shows as Completed, you will be able to download the file.

Once you trigger an export, it will be visible during the next 5 days in the Export history view. If there are multiple files, you can identify the one you are looking for by looking at the request time.

  • Export daily Request Manager asset list: Allows you to immediately download a copy of your daily auto-generated Request Manager report (only if you have access to Request Manager). This option triggers the download immediately without using the Export history view; these exports are not reflected in the Export history view.

Note: This option is only available on the Avails tab.

  • View export history: Allows you to see a list of all files from your previous exports and re-download them. The export history displays a list of all the exports generated in the last 5 days by this specific account. Exports are only shown for your user account. User accounts with access to the same information, such as accounts for other users in the same enterprise, do not see each other’s export history.

Export format

Exports are formatted using .CSV (comma separated values) files. You can open .CSV files with all common spreadsheet tools in the market, such as Microsoft Excel.
