Amazon advertising requirements

Amazon Advertising offers a range of options to help achieve your advertising goals to registered sellers, vendors, book vendors, Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) authors, app developers, and/or agencies. Display ads, streaming TV ads, and ads run through the Amazon demand side platforms (DSP) can be managed independently or with an Amazon Ads account executive.

Refer to the Creative Acceptance Guidelines and Ad Specs. After assets are to spec and ready to deliver, upload the assets and metadata through Video Central. Instructions are outlined below.

Asset requirements

Tile and background imagery

If a title is being supported with Amazon Advertising media, there are specific packaging requirements. In addition to the specifications, the following additional assets are required for titles:

  • 16:9 Cover image
  • 1920x1080px Background image

See Asset manifest for instructions on uploading the 16:9 Cover image and Background image. Review the video tutorial for more information.

Metadata entry and updates

See MEC title manifest for instructions on adding or updating metadata for a title. Review the video tutorial for more information.

Note: Special characters and accented characters used in the synopsis fields of an MEC file can cause publishing errors. The following entries can be used to correctly reference the associated special characters:
