Video: Video Central Support — Packaging Summary

In this video we describe the Prime Video packaging summary of title packages. A title package is a set of required assets to publish a title on Prime Video. They include video, audio, timed text, an image, title metadata, and asset metadata. For all title packages, associated content rights must also be delivered separately. Our title package requirements differ in some ways between our existing stacks, which include the US, UK, DE, JP. and Global (all others). Each of these five stacks require their own title package delivery.

Video: Video Central Support — Title Metadata

Title Metadata includes information like title, genre, rating, and synopsis that helps create a customer-facing detail page for each title. Prime Video accepts metadata in our Amazon-proprietary spec for the US, UK, Germany, and Japan (known as "Classic marketplaces") and in MovieLabs’ Media Entertainment Core, or MEC spec, in our Global marketplace.

Video: Video Central Support — Asset Metadata

While title metadata describes content for customers, asset metadata, also known as a manifest, describes the technical assets delivered. This information includes the asset type, language tags, resolutions, frame rates, and much more. It also describes which of these assets are intended to be packaged or played together.

Video: Video Central Support — Content Rights

To communicate content rights and customer availability of title packages, Prime Video requires availability notices or "avails" sent via Aspera — specifically, we expect EMA Avails. There are three aspects defined in all EMA avails specifications — the format, the accepted values, and the data entry methods. For information on Prime Video supported formats and accepted values, see Content Rights. In this video, we focus on the data entry methods proposed by EMA, named Full Extract and Full Delete.
