Build a “Look Ahead” view for your titles

Last updated 2025-03-11

The first and most critical step to ensure that your titles go live on time is adhering to Prime Video’s delivery SLAs. To help you proactively monitor delivery deadlines and mitigate the risk of missing any, we recommend using preset filters within the Assets tab and Avails tab in Slate. Use these filters to build a “Look Ahead” reporting view, and bookmark it to check frequently. This enables you to:

  • Track upcoming titles that require assets to meet their SLA deadlines.
  • Identify past-due titles where assets may not have been delivered.

Create a custom view on the Assets tab

  1. In Slate, click Catalog and select Assets to open the Assets tab.
  2. Click the filter icon to the right of the search bar.
The filter icon, highlighted on the Assets tab in Catalog Manager
  3. Click Select filter criteria, and then select Action Needed. In the Select Action Needed field, select Action needed.
  4. Click the + Add AND filter button. Select Date — Due as the filter criteria, and then click the Relative tab.
  5. Choose the preset filters:
    1. Under From, select Today.
    2. Under To, select Time in future.
    3. Under Days, enter 30.
This will give you a view of upcoming actions needed for the next 30 days (1 month). You can set this field to any number of days you want to look forward or back, in a custom view. Your screen should look like this.
The Advanced Filter dialog box, set to look for Action Needed assets from today to 30 days in the future
  6. Click Apply.
  7. After you’ve applied the filter, click the Due Date column to sort it by date and see what’s due soonest.
The Assets tab in Catalog Manager, with a custom Look Ahead filtering view applied. The Due Date column is sorted to show what's due soonest.
  8. To save these results as a custom view so you can refer to it at any time, save the current page as a bookmark in your current browser. We recommend you check frequently to ensure that you catch all due dates across all content types.
You can also click the Copy link for current table state to clipboard icon in the upper right to copy the current page as a URL you can share or bookmark separately.
  9. To export the current results of your filter as a spreadsheet you can share or edit, click the Export button to the right of the Actions button.
For more information about export options, see Export query results.

Create a custom view on the Avails tab

You can build a very similar custom view on the Avails tab in Catalog Manager, so you can keep track of when all your avails are due to be published.

  1. In Slate, click Catalog, and select Avails to open the Avails tab.
  2. Click the filter icon to the right of the search bar.
  3. Click Select filter criteria, and then select Publishing requirement status. In the Select publishing requirement status field, select Incomplete.
  4. Click the + Add AND filter button. Select Date — Earliest start date as the filter criteria, and then click the Relative tab.
  5. Choose the preset filters:
    1. Under From, select Today.
    2. Under To, select Time in future.
    3. Under Days, enter 30.
This will give you a view of upcoming requirements for the next 30 days (1 month). You can set this field to any number of days you want to look forward or back, in a custom view. Your screen should look like this.
The Advanced Filter dialog box, set to show avails with an incomplete publishing requirement status on the Avails tab in Catalog Manager
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Scroll to the right to see the Publishing requirements column. Click the red exclamation point (!) icon to the left of a value to see a list of the items that need to be delivered.

Additional custom views

Depending on what kind of information you want to see, you can apply filters to build more custom views in the Assets tab, the Avails tab, or both.

To view all upcoming titles with missing assets, or assets that require action (Assets or Avails tab)

  1. On the Relative tab in the Advanced Filter dialog box:
    1. Under From, select Today.
    2. Under To, select Anytime in future.

To view all past due titles with missing assets, or assets that have yet to be delivered (Assets or Avails tab)

  1. On the Relative tab in the Advanced Filter dialog box:
    1. Under From, select Anytime in past
    2. Under To, select Today.

To look at all titles missing assets, both past due and upcoming

  • On the Assets tab, set the Action Needed filter to Action needed.
    OR
  • On the Avails tab, set the Publishing requirement status filter to Incomplete.

You don’t need to set a date range, past or future, for either of these filters.
