Asset Quick View provides partners with instant access to detailed asset information directly from the Assets tab in Slate, helping you increase asset coverage and compliance on Prime Video. This feature allows you to preview delivered artwork, review playable asset content, identify and manage quality defects, view EMA Avails ingestion status, review MMC manifest defects, and track missing assets — all directly within the Quick View panel.

Overview

Purpose & Product Description
Asset Quick View is a centralized asset management tool within Slate that enables partners to preview, review, and take action on their content assets without leaving the platform. It consolidates artwork preview, playable asset review, quality defect management, EMA Avails ingestion status, MMC manifest defect visibility, missing asset tracking, and asset replacement into a single streamlined panel.

Accessing the Assets Tab

  1. Navigate to Slate and sign in to your account
  2. Click Catalog at the top of the window
  3. Select Assets from the dropdown menu
  4. Click any asset row to launch the Quick View panel

First-Time User Guide
When you first access Asset Quick View, familiarize yourself with the following panel elements:

  • Asset type — displayed at the top of the panel
  • Visual preview (for artwork) or Play button (for playable assets)
  • Flashcard section with metadata and tags (e.g., “Provided by Prime Video” or “Corrected by Prime Video”)
  • Expandable detail rows for asset details, delivery and fulfillment, title details, and title identifiers

Working with Artwork Assets

Finding Prime Video-Provided Artwork
1. In the Assets tab, select the Delivery Accounts filter
2. Filter for “Prime Video” (note: search is case-sensitive, use correct capitalization)
3. Click any asset to launch the Quick View panel

Managing Quality Errors for Playable Assets

Filtering for Assets with Quality Issues
Apply advanced filters in the Asset tab:
Action Needed — Required assets with publish-blocking issues or quality errors resulting in the asset being blocked from publish. Can be found under “Action Needed” filter.
Action Recommended — Required assets with minor (non-asset-blocking) quality issues, or any spec/quality issue on an Optional asset. Can be found under “Action Needed” filter.
Errors value exists — All assets with any detected error

Understanding the Errors Section
When you click on a playable asset with quality defects, the Quick View panel displays an Errors expandable row showing:

The panel also shows specific quality parameters including timestamps, sync offsets, and dialog defect rates, with visual indicators distinguishing between publishing-blocking and non-blocking defects.

Taking Action on Quality Defects

  • If the defect is valid and reproducible — Replace the asset via the in-UI Replace button or standard delivery methods
  • If the defect is a false positive or creative intent — Select “Not an error?” to flag creative decisions or challenge Prime Video quality assessments
  • If you have questions or need clarification — Use the Slate AI Assistant or the Contact Us link in Asset Quick View

⚠️Note

Once a corrected asset is delivered, the status will change from “Failed” to “Fulfilled.”

Automated Defect Detection

Overview
Prime Video’s automated quality detection system scans your catalog to identify media quality defects across video, audio, timed text, image, and metadata assets. Auto-detected defects are classified as “Quality (Auto)” in Slate and labeled as Action Recommended, providing comprehensive visibility into catalog health without requiring immediate action on all surfaced issues.

How Auto-Detectors Work
Automated detectors run high-confidence quality checks across your entire catalog — including both newly delivered and legacy assets that contain new offer windows or are re-encoded in our system. When a defect is identified, it is surfaced in the Assets Tab and Asset Quick View with the Rule Source labeled Quality (Auto). These detections supplement manual quality checks and are designed to catch issues earlier in the workflow, before they impact the customer viewing experience.

Key Guidance for Partners
Prioritize using widget filters — Focus on “Fix Now” and “Fix This Week” to address defects that impact active launches. Defects on titles with no active/future rights are informational only.
Re-encoded assets are re-scanned — Expect updated results after re-encoding; source-level defects require a corrected redelivery.
False positives can be reported — Use the “Not an error?” button to flag incorrect detections. Your feedback improves detector accuracy.
Redelivery due dates — There may be instances where a redelivery request references a past date but still requires action. Always confirm launch readiness by searching the SKU or Title in the Avails/Assets tabs.

How to View Auto-Detected Defects in Slate
1. Navigate to Slate → Catalog → Assets Tab
2. Apply the filter: Rule Source = Quality (Auto)
3. Click any asset row to open Asset Quick View and review defect details in the Errors expandable row
4. Use the embedded media player or Copy Proxy link to preview content and confirm the defect

Expected Results on Re-Encoded Assets
When an asset is re-encoded by Prime Video’s internal systems, auto-detectors will automatically re-scan the new encode. Partners should expect one of three outcomes:

Exporting Content Errors for Local Use

Overview
Export functionality allows you to analyze error patterns, share data with your team, and track quality improvements over time. The enhanced defect export now covers all defect types — media, metadata, artwork, EMA Avails, and MMC — replacing the biweekly Content Issues Report.

⚠️Note

This export functionality will help you recreate the biweekly Content Issues Report.

Exporting Steps

  1. Apply filters in the Assets tab:
    1. Select “Errors value exists”
    2. Select “Rule source is Publishing Spec, Quality (Auto), Quality (Manual), Customer Contact, RFL”
  2. Click on the Download button located on the top right corner of the table
  3. Select “Export all rows under current filter”
  4. Click on View Export History to download reports generated in the last 5 days

Enhanced Defect Export Options
Two export options are available from the Export dropdown:

Includes proxy URLs for media assets (up to 500 assets per export, links valid for 7 days). Non-media assets show “NA” in the proxy column.

1. Export respects all active filters and is scoped to open defects under your current filter
2. Exports generate asynchronously — access via Export History when ready
3. An in-app notification is delivered when your export is ready, with a direct download link
4. Exports are scoped to your account (partner data isolation)

Viewing and Accessing Playable Assets

Using the Lightweight Media Player
1. In the Asset Tab, filter for the desired content using SKU and Asset Type
2. Click on the asset row for the desired content to open the Asset Quick View panel
3. Click the Play button to review the asset in the embedded lightweight media player

Accessing Proxy Links
1. In the Asset tab, filter for the desired content using SKU and Asset Type
2. Click on the asset row for the desired content to open the Asset Quick View panel
3. Click Copy Proxy link to view the asset
4. Open a new tab and paste the proxy link
5. Timed text files will automatically download when pasted in a new window
6. Save the proxy link through a right click or [CTRL-S] shortcut
7. Once you have completed your task, delete the saved file from your device

⚠️Note

Proxy links expire in 7 days. Simply click ‘Copy Proxy link’ again to generate a new link if expired or download the asset for local storage. Bulk proxy generation capability can also be done via Slate.

Replacing Assets

Replacement Workflow

  1. Click the Replace button in the Quick View panel
  2. Upload replacement assets with either the same or different file name
  3. If using a different file name, ensure you update the corresponding MMC and MEC specifications
  4. Click the information icon next to “File” to review acceptable file formats for each asset type
  5. Drag and drop or click “My computer” to select the replacement file
  6. Click Upload file

📌Important

All replacement assets must match the requirements in Prime Video Delivery Specifications.

Working with EMA Avails Defects

Overview
EMA (Electronic Media Avails) files now appear as distinct rows in the Assets Tab, allowing you to view and manage avails-level ingestion defects directly in Slate without checking external email notifications or switching to Delivery Manager. This replaces the avails-related portion of the biweekly Redelivery Report.

⚠️Note

EMA Avails delivered in XLS format are displayed as rows in the Assets tab. Partners who deliver via the Avails API should continue to check the Avails tab for offer-level status. All EMA Avail rows (like the other rows in Assets tab) shows the latest delivery for this SKU. Errors on EMA Avails may reference prior deliveries. To view prior deliveries, check the Deliveries tab. If the issue is fixed in the most recent delivery of this EMA Avail, you can mark as resolved.

Understanding EMA Avails in the Assets Tab
When you filter the Assets tab for EMA Avails, each delivered EMA file appears as a distinct row with the following information:

Taking Action on EMA Avails Defects

  1. Open the EMA sidecar and review error details in the Errors section
  2. If the defect is valid — Click “Upload” at the bottom of the sidecar to deliver a corrected EMA file
  3. If the defect requires clarification — Use the “Learn more | Contact us” links for specification guidance
  4. Confirm resolution by checking that the delivery status updates after your new file is delivered

⚠️Note

Once a corrected EMA Avails file is delivered, the defect status will update in the Assets Tab. Confirm launch readiness by checking the Avails Tab for publishing requirements status.

⚠️Note

EMA Avails live on the Assets tab because it tracks delivered files and their ingestion status. The Avails tab shows the offers those files create and whether they’re ready to publish — it’s an offer-level view, not a file-level view.

Working with MMC Manifest Defects

Overview
MMC (Media Manifest Core) files now appear as rows in the Assets Tab, allowing you to view and manage manifest-level defects directly in Slate. The MMC is the “recipe” that links your assets (video, audio, artwork) to titles — without a valid MMC, assets cannot be properly associated to titles for publishing. This replaces the MMC-related portion of the biweekly Redelivery Report.

Understanding MMC Files in the Assets Tab
When you filter for MMC files, each delivered MMC manifest appears as a distinct row:

4. If the defect is valid — Click “Upload” to deliver a corrected MMC file
5. If the defect is not an error — Click “Not an error?” to flag the issue

    📌Important
    When redelivering an MMC, ensure all referenced asset file names match your delivered files. If you replace an asset with a different file name, you must also update and redeliver the corresponding MMC. Mismatches will result in “Awaiting Matching” status.

    Relationship to Asset Replacement
    When you replace an asset through Asset Quick View (see Section 8), the MMC must be updated if the replacement file has a different name than the original submission:
    1. A new MEC or MMC is required if the replacement asset has a different file name than the original submission
    2. If the file name remains exactly the same, no MMC update is needed
    3. Update and redeliver the MMC to reference the new file name before redelivering the replacement asset
    4. Check the MMC sidecar after redelivery to confirm “Awaiting Matching” has resolved

    Metadata and Artwork Quality Defects

    Metadata and artwork quality defects from multiple rule sources are now visible directly in the Assets Tab, replacing the corresponding portion of the biweekly Redelivery Report. You can view, investigate, and take action on these defects without leaving Slate.

    Metadata Quality Defects
    Metadata quality defects appear in the Assets Tab when you filter for metadata files. The sidecar provides locale and territory details alongside error information.

    To view metadata defects:
    1. In the Assets tab, filter to Asset Type = Metadata and Delivery status = Fulfilled
    2. Click any metadata row to open the sidecar
    3. Expand the Errors section to review defect details including error message, description, Rule source, and Error code
    4. Use the “Contributions” link to view delivery history and contribution versions

    2. Click any artwork row to open the sidecar
    3. Review the image preview, subtypes, sizes, and locale variants
    4. Use the magnifying glass to zoom in for detailed visual inspection
    5. Expand the Errors section to review defect details
    6. To find Prime Video-provided artwork, filter to Delivery Account = Prime Video — the “Provided by Prime Video” indicator appears in the sidecar

    3. If the defect is a false positive or creative intent — Click “Not an error?” and select the appropriate reason (Creative Intent or False Positive)
    4. If you need clarification — Use the “Learn more | Contact us” link or the Slate AI Assistant

    ⚠️Note
    Action states are consistent across the Assets tab. Once a corrected asset is delivered, the status will progress to reflect resolution.

    Missing Assets (Required Fulfillment Languages)

    Overview
    Missing asset requests are surfaced in the Assets tab via the RFL (Required Fulfillment Languages) rule source. These rows represent assets that are required for your titles but have not yet been delivered. Use this view to identify pending delivery obligations and take action without relying on external notifications.

    Viewing Missing Assets
    1. In the Assets tab, filter to Rule source = RFL
    2. Rows display with Action = “Action recommended” and Delivery status = “Pending Delivery”
    3. Asset Type and Sub Type columns show the specific missing asset types required
    4. Click any row to open the sidecar — the Errors section displays a “Missing asset” error with Rule source = “RFL”
    5. “Not an error?” link is available if the request does not apply to your catalog

    Taking Action on Missing Assets

    1. Review the missing asset type and locale requirements shown in the sidecar
    2. Deliver the required asset through standard delivery methods (Title Hub, bulk delivery, or Slate UI upload)
    3. If the asset is not applicable to your catalog — Click “Not an error?” to close the request (for example, if you do not support the requested language)

    ⚠️Note

    Missing asset requests focus on required fulfillment languages for your titles. These are marked as “Action recommended” — they do not block publishing but are recommended for a complete customer experience. If you do not support a requested language, use the “Not an error?” option to close the request.
