Hello, valued partners! This page provides an overview of recent updates Prime Video has made to the Slate Tool and Support Guide.
Error Code Definition Updates in SLATE
We’ve updated the error code definitions on the Quality measurement and feedback page to provide guidance to partners about how Prime Video handles minor defects, ensuring partners understand that for minor defects, publishing proceeds while they are still expected to redeliver corrected assets. The severity levels table continues to define three categories (Critical, Major, Minor) with their corresponding definitions, Prime Video actions, and required partner actions.
Classic Market Place (CMP) TVOD seasons with improved failure reasons between Avail Deliveries and Storefront
For TVOD TV titles in Classic Marketplaces (US, DE,JP and GB), we will be upgrading our supply chain architecture so that titles are published in a faster mechanism (less than 15 mins) and in a more reliable manner (fully automated with no manual interventions). As part of this launch, we will be adding new publishing requirements on Slate that will ensure partners get visibility into why a Season cannot go live. Additionally, partners will have the ability to perform Full Deletes which will remove an existing title from the storefront immediately. Finally, TV Box Sets that are currently blocked from going live due to “System Requirement 1 Check and System Requirement 2 Check” will automatically launch.
To ensure current selection is maintained, Prime Video will be performing a one time clean up of all TVOD TV Seasons and Episodes where inconsistencies were identified between storefront and avails delivered to Prime Video by end of Q1 2026. Examples of inconsistencies include but are not limited to:
- Mismatch between number of episodes (i.e. 12 Episodes delivered but 10 listed in Season offer avail EpisodeCount.)
- Mismatch between season offer end date and episode offer end dates within season.
- Missing assets (i.e. Missing artwork)
If action is required by any individual studio partner, partner business managers will reach out with further info.
Streamlined Prime Video API Documentation Now Available
We’re excited to announce a comprehensive update to our Prime Video API documentation, making it easier than ever for partners to discover and integrate our APIs. We’ve consolidated our documentation into two clear API suites: the Content API Suite for managing content submissions and retrievals, and the Analytics API Suite for accessing performance and subscription data. This reorganization eliminates redundancy and provides clear pathways for partners to find the right APIs for their needs.
The updated documentation includes enhanced guidance for our Avails Management API, plus new documentation for recently released APIs including Asset Status API, Offer Status API, Financial Statement, and Subscription Event Log. Partners can now navigate more efficiently with improved page structure and streamlined onboarding information, reducing the time needed to understand API capabilities and begin integration.
Proxy Link Functionality on All Ingested Playable Assets
Prime Video Slate is expanding proxy link generation and download to all ingested playable assets, including video, audio, and timed text files. As such, proxy link generation requests will no longer be fulfilled via Contact Us effective immediately. Partners can now access secure proxy links directly from the Assets Tab via Asset Quick View, enabling quick preview, download and validation of their content. For security, all proxy links automatically expire after 7 days of generation, ensuring your assets remain protected while providing the flexibility you need for efficient catalog management.
Coming Soon: Enhanced Auto-Detection for Improved Catalog Quality
Prime Video is enhancing our automated quality detection capabilities to provide greater visibility into catalog health. Starting in March, select partners will begin seeing more errors surfaced as we dial up auto-detectors for certain defect types. This enhancement will gradually expand to additional partners throughout the month, increasing coverage across your assets and ensuring defects are identified earlier in the workflow. By catching quality issues sooner and providing more comprehensive insights into your catalog, we’re helping you maintain the high standards Prime Video customers expect while delivering a better viewing experience.
Coming Soon: Biweekly Content Issues Report Migrates to Slate
Prime Video is streamlining defect management by migrating the biweekly content issues report directly into Slate’s Catalog Assets Tab by March 31st, 2026. Partners will gain on-demand access to comprehensive error reports anytime, anywhere through Slate’s self-service platform, eliminating the need to wait for scheduled email updates. With enhanced export capabilities and real-time visibility into catalog health, you’ll be able to proactively identify and resolve issues faster, ensuring your content meets Prime Video’s quality standards and reaches customers on time. Learn more on how to replicate the current report on Asset Quick View.
