Renew previously delivered content

You can change an asset’s SKU, but only in specific circumstances. In general:

  • A title can’t be linked to two different SKUs at the same time.
  • If you’re changing SKUs, the first (old) SKU must be fully deleted before the new one can launch.

The change process itself depends on whether assets have already been sent. The following table provides an overview of when and how you can change an SKU.

You can’t change SKUs for a title that’s currently live.

You can’t change SKUs for a title when assets have already been delivered, and the Publish Ready Status is set to Ready. For more information, review the columns in the Avails tab.

While SKUs typically cannot be changed after asset delivery, IF publishing is not yet complete, you can change the SKU.

  1. Delete the old SKU by submitting an avail as a Full Delete.
  2. Submit a separate avail as a Full Extract, containing the correct SKU. Important: Do not include both Full Delete and Full Extract in the same avail.
  3. Re-deliver the assets with the correct SKU. Important: Please rename files if they contain the old SKU.

You can change the SKU by deleting the old SKU using a Full Delete on the Avails tab. For more information, see Content removal.

Avails

If previously delivered content has expired offer windows and you want to renew or re-avail those offers, submit Full Extract avails with the updated offer window dates.

These avails must use the same unique ID (SKU) that was used for the original metadata and avail delivery.

Re-avail the same assets

When only re-availing the same assets, don’t deliver new metadata or a new full asset package. Delivering a new package or using a different SKU creates title duplicates in our system and blocks publishing in most cases.

Update playable assets

When re-availing and updating playable assets on a title (such as a new editorial release), mezzanine video and metadata must be redelivered to replace the old versions. However, the SKU used in the original avail and metadata must be reused with the replacement assets to avoid title duplicates.
