Supply Chain Updates, August 2025

Updated 2:3 poster art requirements, refreshed ratings guidelines, and more Last updated 2025-08-15

Hello, valued partners! this page serves as a notification to inform you of recent updates

Reminder: 2:3 poster artwork is now required for mobile discovery!

As of August 2025, titles must have 2:3 aspect ratio poster artwork to be included in Prime Video’s discovery features on mobile. Titles without compliant 2:3 poster artwork are filtered out from carousels, recommendations, and browsing sections on mobile. (Title pages are still accessible through search, and customers can still watch, purchase and rent all published content on mobile.)

Currently, titles are only excluded from discovery on mobile; the Prime Video discovery experience on other devices is not affected. However, on January 30, 2026 all new titles without 2:3 aspect ratio poster artwork will be gated from publishing, across all devices.

Here’s how this will break down: In January, we will start requiring 2:3 artwork for new titles and/or offers. If 2:3 artwork is missing, we will block publishing. However, this is only true for brand-new offer contexts that have never been live before. For titles that have been published already, you can make and publish the following changes, whether you have 2:3 artwork or not:

  • Price updates
  • A date change or renewal deal
  • Metadata updates
  • New artwork uploads
  • Video file updates

Meanwhile, the following change types will require 2:3 artwork or they will not be published:

  • Adding a territory
  • Adding a quality (like adding HD to an SD-only title)
  • Adding a new benefit ID
  • A brand-new title

We encourage you to proactively incorporate 2:3 poster art assets into your delivery ahead of January 30, 2026. o ensure your content remains discoverable, please review your titles and update any non-compliant artwork. For detailed specifications on poster artwork requirements, see Artwork specifications.

Content ratings and descriptors revised for Q3 2025

We’ve made sure that our guidelines for content ratings and content descriptors are up to date for all regions, and we’ve revised the downloadable Excel workbook of ratings and descriptors to match. For complete details on all the MEC ratings metadata you must provide to be compliant, see Ratings, and be sure to download the latest workbook from the link at the top of the page.

Coming soon: Improvements to the Storefront merchandising tool

Prime Video Channels partners will notice that we’re rolling out several improvements to the Storefront self-service merchandising tool, and to the related support documentation. These include new carousel options for live content and specific channels, and automated safe zone detection for the banner artwork assets you submit. Check out Storefront overview for details on the new features—and a quick video demo coming in September.

Coming soon: New “Live on site” column on the Avails tab

We’re internally testing the Live on site column on the Avails tab in Catalog Manager now. Live on site provides real-time status to indicate whether your avails for a title are available to Prime Video customers across one or more supported devices. You can use this column to build searches and custom views so that you know exactly when an action is required to make your content live. Stay tuned for more details!
