Storefront overview: Invite only

Last updated 2025-08-25

Storefront is a self-service merchandising tool designed to give Prime Video Channel partners greater control and flexibility in managing their channel collection pages. With just a few clicks, your team can easily add, update, and schedule carousels and hero banners—no manual coordination required. This streamlined experience empowers your creative team to showcase your content the way you want, when you want.

Storefront is currently available by invitation only, and is being rolled out to select partners. Your partner manager will reach out when it’s your turn to get started.

Banner management

There are two types of banners that you can configure on your channel collections page(s):

  • Channel banner: This is the always on banner displayed across Prime Video that holistically represents your channel. Both entitled subscribers of your channel and unentitled customers can view these banners on your channel collection page.
  • Title banner: This represents a single title from your catalog, and introduces viewers to some top content available on your channel. Only entitled subscribers of your channel are able to view the title banners.

Important: See Marketing artwork reference to download the respective templates for each banner type. Make sure to verify the last updated date on the templates, and do not use templates that were downloaded prior to the specified date. To update a banner, you need to add the correct image assets, and then update the banner configuration.

Add image assets

The first step is to submit the banner (channel or title) image assets, which then go through a manual quality check.

  1. Navigate to Asset Library from the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the Add asset button.
  3. Choose an option:
Select Title banner creative to add a title banner.
    OR
Select Channel banner creative to add a channel banner.
Asset Library page with the Add asset button and banner options highlighted
  4. Upload the listed image resolutions with the corresponding file names.
Note: Image sizes should be less than 5 MB.
  5. If there are no warnings, click Preview.
The Add asset workflow with a variety of files listed to preview
If there are warnings, please correct the images and re-upload. You can also choose Ignore warnings and Preview if you deem them inapplicable.

After you upload your artwork, you’ll see a preview showing your creative as a composite image in both Web and Mobile formats. The logo, gradient, and safe zone border appear overlaid on the preview for better visual representation. Messaging below each preview shows either a successful safe zone check or a violation warning.

Note: The preview shows potential safe zone violations, but you will still be able to submit your artwork for review. This gives you the opportunity to either fix the issue or proceed with submission if you believe the warning is incorrect.

Once submitted, the images are reviewed against Prime Video’s visual policy and other template requirements. The results of the manual quality check are available in the Asset Library, along with reasons any assets were rejected. If the assets are approved, proceed to Update banner configuration.

Carousel management

There are four types of carousels that you can configure on your channel collections page(s):

  • Query-based carousel: This lets you define the criteria (such as Genre) for displaying content within carousels. You can also manually select titles, order them, and exclude specific titles.
  • Title collection carousel: This is a curated list of movies and TV shows that gives you precise control of title positioning. A title collection carousel can be configured as either a Standard or Super carousel.
  • Live carousel: An auto-generated carousel that showcases live and upcoming or concluded events. Upcoming events are included in the carousel 90 days prior to their scheduled start date, and sorted by the earliest upcoming event first. Concluded events remain in the carousel for up to one year after their end date, and are sorted by the most recently ended first.
  • Station carousel: An auto-generated carousel based on what is live at the time that subscribers view it. You can also pin or exclude specific stations.

Important: A Super carousel has specific poster-art requirements and delivery prerequisites. Every title that is added to a Super carousel must have the 2:3 Poster Art available. For details, see:

The steps to create a new carousel of any type are the same:

  1. On the Overview page, click Add carousel.
    OR
In the left-hand menu, select Carousels, and click Add carousel.

This should include basic title criteria like Content type, Genres, and Keywords. You can also add specific titles under Title inclusions, pin titles under Title pinnings, and exclude titles from the query results under Title exclusions.

Note: If you include future Prime Video release titles under Title Inclusions, they will be visible on your collection page once they launch on Prime Video.

Publish or schedule a carousel

  1. Click Edit scheduling.

    • To have the carousel run indefinitely on the collection page, select Open ended for the end date.
  3. Choose the vertical position for the carousel:
    • Fully personalized for customers: Amazon applies customization algorithms based on the customer’s viewing history and displays relevant carousels on top. Different customers see the carousels in different orders.
    • Fully personalized, with carousel within the Top 7, Top 15, or Top 30 positions: Similar to the option above, but this ensures that the carousel appears within the Top X vertical positions. Different customers see the carousel in a different vertical position, but definitely within the Top X selected.
    • Place the carousel in position: Select a specific position for the carousel to appear in. All customers see the carousel appear in the same position.
  4. Click Schedule to submit and publish the carousel.

Data and metrics

We provide metrics on your Storefront overview page that inform you about how the banners and carousels are performing with respect to sign-ups and streams. The metrics are calculated and displayed for both unentitled and entitled customer segments, as highlighted in the screenshots in this section. All metric definitions are provided below.

  • CTR (Storefront Banner Click-through-rate Index & Carousel Click-through-rate Index)
Number of clicks on your hero banner/carousel, divided by the total number of views of your hero banner/carousel. The rate is then indexed on your channel baseline (the CTR from all of your channel’s storefront banners/carousels in the past 180 days). The metric is calculated and displayed for your channel banner, title banner, and every carousel.
  • Signups (Storefront banner signup rate index)
Number of customers who subscribed to your channel within 10 minutes of clicking on your storefront banner, divided by the number of customers who viewed your storefront banner. The rate is then indexed on your channel baseline (signup rate from all of your channel’s storefront banners in the past 180 days).
  • Views (Carousel View Rate Index)
Number of customers who viewed the carousel, divided by the number of customers who visited your channel storefront. The rate is then indexed on your channel baseline (view rate of all your channel’s carousels in the past 180 days).
  • Streams (Storefront Banner Stream Rate Index & Carousel Stream Rate Index)
Number of customers who streamed any title from your storefront banner/carousel within 10 minutes of clicking your storefront banner/carousel, divided by the number of customers who viewed your storefront banner/carousel. The rate is then indexed on your channel baseline (stream rate from all of your channel’s storefront banners/carousels in the past 180 days).

Multi-tier Channel Support

Multi-tier Channel Support is a feature for Prime Video Channel partners who offer different levels (tiers) of Video On Demand (VOD) content. This feature helps you create more effective marketing strategies and provide a better viewing experience for your subscribers across all tiers. Multi-tier Channel Support provides two main benefits:

View collection pages by tier

  • See how your channel’s collection pages appear for each subscription tier
  • Organize content more easily across different tiers

Target promotional content

  • Display specific banners and carousels to different tiers
  • Strategically showcase premium content to lower-tier subscribers
  • Encourage upgrades to higher subscription tiers

Best practices for working with the Storefront tool

  • Remove duplicate titles
Turn on the Dedupe titles option to prevent the same title from appearing multiple times across the storefront. This increases your ability to merchandise other titles in your catalog. This feature is particularly useful to reduce the overall number of titles in a query-based carousel. A customer query will probably pull multiple seasons of the same show into the carousel, but with Dedupe titles turned on, the carousel will only display the most popular season, which is typically the most recent one.
  • Personal ranking
When you turn on the Personal ranking option, the Amazon personalization algorithm determines the order of the titles depending on the customer, creating a more curated and optimized experience.
  • Hero banner review SLAs
We recommend submitting hero banner assets for review as soon as possible to avoid any last-second delays. The hero banner process operates with a 7-business day SLA. However, if there are continuous errors flagged upon each resubmission, it can take several attempts for full approval, and more than 7 business days to publish a hero banner. Until you’ve reached a comfortable steady state with the creative and design requirements, as designated by the Prime Video Creative team, we recommend that you submit hero banner assets at least two weeks in advance of the planned launch date.
  • Rotating hero banner
The rotating hero banner is used to promote tentpole titles to entitled customers. Each hero banner will be dedicated to a specific title. Amazon recommends refreshing this rotation at least every month, with a combination of shows and movies in the rotation (and corresponding to your release calendar and content library, if possible).
  • Additional carousel types
In addition to Standard carousels, Super carousels are available through self-service. Super carousels are visually larger than Standard carousels, and are recommended to promote tentpole titles. Note that the Super carousel type has a different box art aspect ratio than the standard 16x9 box art. Because of this, it is important to submit additional 2x3 Poster art at the same point in the supply chain as you would have submitted the 16x9 box art associated with the Standard carousel. You will be able to tell when a title has the associated Super carousel 2x3 Poster art through the carousel preview window in the carousel edit page.
  • Storefront carousel ranking
Storefronts now have carousel-level ranking, meaning that the vertical order of the carousels will be personalized based on customer preferences. Amazon recommends using the relative pinning on the carousel creation page to influence the general area where the carousel should be vertically slotted. Absolute pinning is still an option to hold a carousel in a specific vertical slot, and is useful for prominent carousels. Note that because of the personalized order, the order you see in Slate may not match the order a customer sees on the live Prime Video website.
