Getting started

This article provides an overview of and how to get started with Video Central, the partner portal for Prime Video. Access to Video Central is invite-only. For access, contact your operational or business contact at Prime Video or a member of your team.

Video Central enables studios and posthouses to self-service their business (e.g., TVOD, SVOD, Prime Video Channels) with Prime Video. Video Central is a counterpart to the Prime Video Direct (PVD) portal for self-publishers who don't want to execute bulk, spec-driven deliveries.

Overview

Video Central has features supporting three use cases — finance, business, and operations. Below is a brief summary of the features available on the Video Central portal.

Permission typeFeatureDescription
Banking informationBank and tax onboardingEnables a studio to self-configure banking preferences and take necessary tax interviews to be paid in a given locale.

Invite users and manage permissions

Access to Video Central is invite-only. If you don't have a Video Central account, contact a member of your team who has access.

Don’t share your account credentials with anyone. If you want to grant another person access to your Video Central account, use the Invite Users feature. In addition to adding and removing authorized people, you can set the role, or the amount of access, the other person has.

Grant permissions

Each person you want to invite must first provide you with a unique user code. To get the user code, the other person must go to https://account.videocentral.amazon.com/user-code and sign in with an existing or new Amazon account based on a work email address. (For amazon.co.jp accounts, go to https://account.videocentral.amazon.co.jp/user-code). A multi-factor authentication process is required. A user code appears that the other person should provide to you.

To add the person and grant permissions, do the following:

  1. In the window top-right corner, click your user name, and then click Your Account.
  2. If you haven't already done so, fill out Your Business Profile. The profile includes your business name, phone number, and email address.
  3. In the left navigation, click Users & Roles. This page displays all users that have access to this Video Central account.
  4. Click Add User.
  5. In the User code box, enter the user code that the other person received when they went to https://account.videocentral.amazon.com/user-code (or https://account.videocentral.amazon.co.jp/user-code for amazon.co.jp accounts).
  6. In the Email Address box, enter the person's email address. This must be the same email address that they used used to sign in to get the user code.
  7. Select the permission levels to grant. See the table in the Overview section for more information about the features enabled with each level of permissions. Note: You can only grant permissions up to the same level as your user account has.
  8. Click Add user. To add additional people, click Add additional user.

Manage permissions

  1. Next to the person's account entry, click Edit.
  2. Select View & Edit for the permission level to grant.
  3. Click Save.

If no member of your team has access to the permission level you need and you can't be invited to gain access to your team’s Video Central account, contact your Prime Video Partner Operations Manager or Content Acquisition Manager.

View invite requests and statuses

To view who has accepted invite requests, do the following:

  • In Your Account, click Users & Roles, and then click Accepted. People who haven’t responded can be viewed by clicking Pending.

The following statuses are shown:

  • Invite Pending   The invitation was sent, but the person hasn't accepted (they haven’t clicked the link in the email to be added to the account).
  • Not Confirmed   The person accepted the invite, but they haven't completed the business profile.
  • Active   The person accepted the invite and completed the business profile. They have access to the account based on the permissions granted.
