Fanout territory logic

What is a fanout territory?

Prime Video defines a fanout territory as a principal territory and the territories connected to it. When partners publish content in one of the principal territories, it is automatically published in the connected territories as well. Here’s a list of the original fanout territories:

  • US offer — Content also became available in the following fanout territories: American Samoa (AS), Guam (GU), Northern Mariana Islands (MP), Puerto Rico (PR), United States Minor Outlying Islands (UM), US Virgin Islands (VI)
  • GB offer — Content also became available in the following fanout territories: Guernsey (GG), Isle of Man (IM), Jersey (JE), Ireland (IE)
  • DE offer — Content also became available in the following fanout territories: Austria (AT), Switzerland (CH), Liechtenstein (LI), Luxembourg (LU)

As our systems continue to evolve and our service coverage expands, we're requesting more granularity regarding available territories within the EMA avail submissions.

EMA avail submissions

Any title that is delivered to the main territory will be available in the associated FanOut territory.

Whenever sending EMA avails for the “principal territory”, you must include the avails for each of the corresponding “underlying possessions” as a distinct line item. If you are not considering distribution in all of the “underlying possessions”, please do not avail the title.

For each asset, you must repeat the avail line once for the US and then six more times for each fanout territory.

  • For movie content, submit seven entries within the same avails template — one row for each of the following territories: US, AS, GU, MP, PR, UM, and VI.
  • For TV content delivered to Prime Video Channels, remove the season row from the TV tab within the avails template. For TVOD avails only, the season row should be left as is.

You may submit multiple territories within the same file.
