Supply Chain Updates, January 2026

Updates to localization improvements, VAM spec, Audio description style guide, and more! Last updated 2026-01-16

Hello, valued partners! This page provides an overview of recent updates Prime Video has made to the Slate Tool and Support Guide.

Localization Quality and Responsible use of AI

We’ve published a new article that outlines Prime Video’s localization quality standards and provides guidance for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across dubbing, subtitling, and accessibility. It establishes a unified framework to guide partners in maintaining creative integrity, cultural nuance, and customer trust as localization practices evolve. You can read the full article in the Delivery Specifications section of Slate: /delivery-specifications/localization-quality-and-responsible-use-of-ai

Final Reminder: 2:3 Poster Art Will Be A Requirement Across All Devices!

On January 30, 2026, we will begin enforcing 2:3 aspect ratio poster artwork requirements across all devices. After this date, all new titles without 2:3 poster artwork will be blocked from publishing.

Here’s what this means for you: Starting in January 2026, we will require 2:3 artwork for new titles and/or offers. If 2:3 artwork is missing, publishing will be blocked. However, this only applies to brand-new offer contexts that have never been live before. For titles already published, you can continue to make and publish the following changes without 2:3 artwork:

  • Price updates
  • Date changes or renewal deals
  • Metadata updates
  • New artwork uploads
  • Video file updates

The following change types will require 2:3 artwork or they will not be published:

  • Adding a territory
  • Adding a quality (like adding HD to an SD-only title)
  • Adding a new benefit ID
  • A brand-new title

We strongly encourage you to proactively incorporate 2:3 poster art assets into your delivery ahead of January 30, 2026. To ensure your content remains discoverable and publishable, please review your titles and update any non-compliant artwork. For detailed specifications on poster artwork requirements, see Artwork specifications.

Launched: View Prime Video Corrected Assets in Your Assets Tab

In December, we began displaying corrected assets directly in the Assets Tab under Catalog. This new feature helps you track when Prime Video has fixed quality issues in your content, making it easier to monitor asset corrections across different asset types.

If Prime Video has corrected a defective asset on your behalf, the updated version will now appear in your Catalog view. You retain full control — simply use the Asset Quick View feature to upload your own defect-free replacement if you prefer to provide your own corrected version.

Value-added Material (VAM) updates

We’ve consolidated the TV VAM and Movie VAM Slate pages into a single unified Value-added material page. Since both pages had very similar specifications, combining them simplifies navigation and makes it easier to view and compare spec differences in one place.

Aspera Migration from Aspera Shares to Aspera on Cloud

By June 2026, we are migrating from Aspera Shares to a new, authentication token based Aspera on Cloud file transfer solutions. All partners who use IBM Aspera as their delivery method will receive new login credentials for Aspera on Cloud. Migration will begin in mid-March 2026 in a phased roll-out approach. More information on what to expect during the migration will be provided at the end of January 2026.

This transition is a requirement for delivery partners who wish to utilize IBM Aspera. If you do not wish to make this transition, we recommend reaching out to your Partner Manager or Contacting Support in regards to transitioning to bulk delivery via S3 which provides faster transfer speed, built-in encryption, no data limits, and a pay-as-you-go pricing model.

Audio Description Style Guide Updated

A new version of the Audio Description Style Guide has been uploaded. This changes includes minor updates to the style guidance and requirements for sending Audio Descriptions to Prime Video.

Prime Subscription Access Rate Card Update

We have published an updated version of our Prime Subscription Access Rate Card, which went into effect January 1, 2026. The rate card now breaks down rates & territory coverage by Costumer Engagement Ranking, Flat Rates, and Per Hour Tier Rates.

Coming Soon: Brazil 6+ Age Rating System Update

Brazil recently introduced a new 6+ age rating. Prime Video wants to provide you with important information about the timeline for system implementation and what this means for your content.

The 6+ rating is not yet ingestible in our system. We plan to introduce the 6+ rating on our system by May 21st, 2026.

You will not be able to select 6+ ratings in the Slate platform at this time. All system functionality will be available by May 21st, 2026. We will provide advance notice via monthly Slate Updates before the 6+ rating options go live, and no immediate action is required from your team.

Coming Soon: View Prime Video Provided Subtitles in Your Assets Tab

Starting on January 22, any subtitles provided by Prime Video will be displayed within the Assets Tab under Catalog, giving you greater visibility into localization assets. This enhancement will initially be available on select SVOD content and for a select group of other beta participants.

When Prime Video provides subtitles for your content, you’ll see them listed alongside your other assets in the Catalog. If you’d prefer to use your own subtitle files instead, you can easily replace the Prime Video generated versions through the Asset Quick View feature at any time.
