Welcome to Prime Video’s Playable Assets Overview
In this video, we’ll focus on the: video and audio requirements.
Let’s start with video requirements.
Prime Video accepts video mezzanines in multiple formats and resolutions.
Your content must meet the minimum requirements for the format you’re delivering.
All content must be trimmed to contain only program material
- no advertisements, bars and tone, test patterns, or production slates.
Your video must have a constant frame rate.
Variable frame rates will be rejected.
Prime Video requires frame rates native to your title’s production.
The display aspect ratio must be accurately described in your file header.
Bit rate is a common cause of ingestion failure — ensure your video meets the minimum bit rate for your format.
Now let’s discuss audio.
All audio tracks in your source file must be in the same language.
Multiple language tracks within a single source are not allowed.
Audio mixes must only contain program audio.
Non-program tracks silent tracks
Non-program tracks silent tracks
or commentary must be removed prior to delivery.
Audio duration and video duration must match exactly.
All audio tracks must be the same bit depth.
Let’s review common video errors that can lead to failed review.
Understanding these will help you avoid redelivery requests.
Watch out for non-standard aspect ratios, incorrect frame rates,
mismatched audio and video durations, and upscaled content.
Avoid including watermarks, logos, URLs, test patterns,
or calls to action like subscribe” or “click here.”
Please ensure that the tagged language on the video matches
the original language in the metadata.
Audio errors include having too many or too few channels,
silent channels in surround mixes,
and audio that doesn’t match the selected language.
Remember to remove any non-program audio before delivery.
To recap: Prime Video requires specific video and audio technical specifications.
Common errors like format issues or mismatched durations, can delay your content delivery.
