Premium VAM is the simplest bundle type to set up. Unlike Movie Collections and TV Box Sets, Premium VAM does not require a bundle-level Content ID (SKU). Instead, the bonus content Content ID (SKU) alone establishes the relationship between the parent title and its bonus content. What Is a Premium VAM Bundle?
Premium VAM (Value-Added Material) lets you offer bonus content as part of a purchasable package. The package is tied to a parent movie or season. Bonus content examples include behind-the-scenes footage, sing-along versions, director’s commentary, and other supplementary materials.
When a customer purchases or rents the associated feature, they automatically unlock all Premium VAM content delivered against it.
How Premium VAM Differs from Other Bundle Types
Unlike TV Box Sets and Movie Collections, Premium VAM does not require a bundle-level Content ID (SKU). Instead, you establish the bundle relationship through a separate bonus content Content ID (SKU). Associate it with a parent movie or season Content ID (SKU). This signals that the bonus content is gated behind the parent title purchase or rental.
When to Use Premium VAM
You want to offer a “Bonus Edition” or enhanced version of a title with supplementary materials included at purchase.
Bonus content must only be accessible to customers who buy or rent the parent title. Examples include sing-alongs, alternate cuts, deleted scenes, or featurettes.
You want to differentiate your offering by bundling exclusive extras with the transactional purchase.
