To fully onboard to deliver to all Prime Video territories and formats, you must demonstrate the ability to deliver content successfully to Prime Video per territory and format (SD/HD, UHD, and HDR for US, UK, DE, JP, and Global). See the Prime Video Packaging Summary for complete requirements by territory and format, or the onboarding requirements for US, UK, DE. and JP (Classic) Territories, or all other territories (Global). Because of the different requirements per format and territory, an onboarding for each is required. If you want to be onboarded for a new format or territory, contact your operations account manager.

To deliver assets, metadata, and avails to Prime Video, use your Aspera account and assigned partner alias.

"Avail" is an industry term for an availability notice, which declares the time, location, and business rules relating to the offering of a title. We utilize EMA Avails. The Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA), in conjunction with MovieLabs, has defined this format for transferring content rights data from publishers to retailers. For more information about submitting EMA avails to Prime Video, see Content Rights.

Full Extract means that new avail entries replace all current and future avail entries within the same scope. Prime Video defines scope as the unique combination of licensor, unique ID, territory, and the rights model (e.g., TVOD, SVOD, etc.). A unique ID is represented by an Alt ID in EMA v1.6 and an ALID in EMA v1.7.

Full Extract requires that all of your current and future avail entries are provided for a scope. When Full Extract avails are submitted, Prime Video replaces all current and future avail information for a given scope. Full Extract allows a content partner to expire a license on a future date.

Submitting a Full Delete causes all avail records of that scope to be removed from Prime Video systems. Even though a Full Delete indicates that all rights for a given scope are removed, if the content is already in-window, a Full Delete isn't sufficient to automatically expire content. Content providers should deliver a Full Extract avail with an appropriate date in the End field to take down live titles. Only use the Full Delete function to remove erroneous avail files for content that isn't live (e.g., if an incorrect Alt ID was used to attempt to modify an avail).

A Logical Asset ID (ALID) is used to identify a set of content (i.e. a Logical Asset) associated with avails in an EMA Avails submission. The ALID-Experience Mapping section of the MMC relates ALIDs to the Experiences associated with that content. Experiences can be localized and therefore a single ALID can only map to one Experience. However, a single Experience can be used with multiple ALIDs. The ALID should always match the Unique ID tag in the title metadata, and the ALTID in the EMA avails template, unless you choose to use EIDR. With EIDR, the ALID should match the EIDR in the Avails.

Prime Video requires two identifiers to be present in every delivery to correctly associate the deliveries together. These two identifiers are a title identifier and a partner identifier. To identify a partner, Prime Video creates and issues each partner a Partner Alias. To identify a title, Prime Video utilizes an idea that is unique to a particular piece of content being offered to customers. The value for this ID is determined by the partner.

The graphic below illustrates how the IDs provided in the various assets delivered to Prime Video are used. These IDs must match exactly in order for content to publish successfully. If these inputs don't match exactly across all components of your delivery, a playable experience won't be created and redelivery will be required.

A semi-textless mezzanine is a mezzanine where subtitles that translate foreign dialog (Forced Narratives) aren't burned into the video. If the Forced Narratives are included and a customer watches a title with subtitles turned on, the subtitles and the Forced Narratives will collide, causing a poor customer experience . A semi-textless mezzanine is the best way to provide a customer viewing experience that works for all localizations. If there is collision between timed text elements and burned-in on-screen text, assets will be rejected. Prime Video doesn't support time code offsets. All timed text files must be submitted with a 00:00 offset to conform to the video file. See the Timed Text technical specifications for complete Timed Text requirements.
